An excellent progressive Assistant Management Accountant role has just come up for an international Premium Retailer, with revenue in excess of £200 million based in London.

A truly excellent role for a candidate (who has experience in working in RETAIL finance) wishing to progress quickly in the Retail/Wholesale environment. You will be involved in various duties and the norm is the client will give you more work to you as they see fit. After 6 months you should start progressing within your role. Training will be given.

Study Support is given in this role and this role is a great foundation on which the candidate will be able to progress quickly.

This is just a starting salary and as you pregress quickly your salary will follow naturally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Involved in the preparation of the month end Management Accounts, journals for critical areas of the business
You will be preparing and reviewing the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
Preparing the monthly HQ cost center reports and writing detailed commentary on the key variances
Involved in the Budgeting and Forecasting
Review concession remittances and regularly liaising with the AP/AR team.
You will be preparing and submitting the quarterly VAT returns (UK only)
You will assist with the year end statutory audit
Various other ad-hoc duties within the finance department

Requirements:

An ACCA / CIMA studier
The ideal candidate will come from a Retail background doing similar work and in total a minimum of around 18 months accounting experience
You will be able to challenge and communicate effectively to senior head of departments
You will be a motivated candidate with Excellent attention to detail
An independent worker, be able to investigate variances when required
Excellent communication skills
Strong Excel skills
